$400 Private Plane Trip PA to FL!

ppodeskToday’s Citizens Voice newspaper is reporting on one hell of a deal Luzerne County Judge Peter Paul Olszewski Jr. got on a flight from Pennsylvania to Florida. The other day, I blogged about Olszewski and his visit with convicted drug dealer Ronald “Snorts” Belletiere and kids-for-cash former judge Mike “I’m Innocent” Conahan at the Florida condo Conahan shared with other disgraced judge, Mark “It’s not a Kickback” Civarella.

According to today’s article, “Olszewski, who is running for retention in November, said he reimbursed Conahan $400 for the round-trip flight about 10 months after returning to Pennsylvania.”

I travel back and forth from PA to FL each week, and I pay around $200 round trip on JetBlue and about $150 round trip on AirTran. Knowing that $400 was a heck of a deal, I pulled out my price sheet for a private jet company. Their smallest jet aircraft would run $7700.00 per hour and would hold 4 people. Three hours from PA to FL, $23,100 one way plus catering.

I’m really beginning to believe that the smart people are actually dumb. Did Peter Paul think that $400 was his actual share of the flight? Or did he see it as a good deal, write the check and move on?

The plot thickens.
