Get ready roller coaster fans, your day is coming! August 16th is National Roller Coaster Day, a day set aside to celebrate life’s ups and downs, twists and turns. SeaWorld Orlando is celebrating by having extended park hours and special events throughout the day.
Coaster Tech Talk will feature 20 – 30 minute tours of the coaster house for Mako, Orlando’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster. Team members from the park’s operations and maintenance teams will lead the tour and give visitors an up close look at one of the coaster trains.
The tours will be scheduled at 1pm and 2:30pm and require registration. Space is limited and reservations are first-come, first-served. Sign up for the tour outside the coaster at the Mako Gift Shop.
Extended Ride Time will be available for several of SeaWorld’s thrill rides including Mako; Florida’s only flying coaster, Manta; the world’s tallest river rapids drop ride, Infinity Falls; and the southeast’s only floorless coaster, Kraken; and Journey to Atlantis.
These rides will be open until 11pm and riders can take advantage of a special on-ride photo package for $20 that includes five ride photos.
To keep the party going, Flamecraft Bar and Waterway Grill Bar will extend their buy-one-get-one-free Happy Hour from 4pm – 11pm.
If you’re not able to celebrate, take a virtual ride on some of these SeaWorld coasters in the videos below.
